Re: The Budget Shortfall Survey before it was ruined

That would have been a very useful survey.

The movement of the central office on the survey to a more favorable position is very noticeable.

What is also missing is the filters regarding where one graduated from school, where your kids go to school, if you are a leader in the community, etc.

This is what the budget shortfall survey looked like before it was ruined. It was actually pretty good to start with. Then it was changed to try and favor central office. ...

Charter schools don't have to have all certified teachers, but the best teacher any of my kids had (for a total of 10 classes over 7 grades and 9 years) is also the best teacher of any kind that I know, and is not certified.

Cutting the contract for Insight K12 would be a good starting point for the advisory board. They did the survey for the vision statement as well as the budget survey. Both were VERY poor. In fact I would ask for the money back!
How can the answers be worth anything. Any answer on the first page is wor...

I too asked about the survey - I don't like only ranking 3 on each list (forced ranking of all choices is a better design), and I thought there should be overlap between the lists, but if it came from the survey company, we can't do anything about it (until that contract is due for renewal).

As of Mon...

Mia, I too am grateful for all your work and dedication. It does seem as though you should have more information provided to you and the committee by now. The submission date for recommendations is coming up fast. Have you considered asking that the committee members be provide the operational budget ...

It appears to me that they are better than average, certainly better than we have seen on the BOE in a long time. It is CLEARLY wrong what was done by Logan and apparently rubber-stamped by the whole BOE.  But, comparatively, they are better. I would prefer to see the wrong doing admitted by the indiv...

IMO Hamm kept a level head and a business like attitude when Logan's reconfiguration disaster happened when Deb and Del were ready to destroy the County School System.
