Has anyone had a large number of grass onions pop up in the last two weeks?  I have not had any, then all of sudden, they are everywhere in my yard.

Yes! What conditions cause that?

Why are you sweating the meaningless little stuff?

It makes the yard look unkept.  The onions are about 4 inches higher than the grass, and there is enough to notice it.

Stop in at your local PBO Farm Supply store. They will have something that will kill weeds in your lawn, but not kill the grass. READ THE LABEL about safe reentry time for kids/animals...ICK!

The beauty berry is showing off it's lovely purple berries. The pansies are shining their happy little faces with the cooler temps kicking in. Magnificent fall foliage color this year! The holly and the nandina berries are showing off!

It's hard for me to see pansies without smiling. They're just the happiest little flowers!

Though thanks to the deer, I can't do pansies in beds any longer, unless I spend a fortune in spray, NOT! I do multiple pot planting of them on the rear deck and front porch. I love to see their little smiley faces! Found some really pretty new selections out there this year that were cheery beyond belief!

to date, I can tell you what I have not seen in my yard, or anywhere else, is spring bulbs. daffodils, crocus, anything.

today I saw some green shoots, but no flowers. this is the latest I have ever seen.

Yes, they are hiding out, just like I have been myself! Yard is a MESS from the wind, snow etc. and I too have not popped my head out to address it. A sunny, mild day will come and we will all pop up to the occasion!

My yard is sad indeed, but I do have two shades of purple crocus blooming, a few snowdrops, and my flowering apricots have been perfuming the air for about three weeks. Spouse took some great shots of the open flowers covered by the last snowfall.

yours must be a sheltered yard, indeed. I have looked for the first daffodil for years, earliest was Feb. 2-3, this is the latest. I don't remember a year that went beyond Valentines day. Feb. 7-8 is about average.

Lots of things in bloom here. Star and Tulip Magnolia, Weeping Cherry and others and more about to pop bloom. Others coming out of winter's sleep to follow up.
Out in my veggie area today and asparagus peeping out! Lol, I love some asparagus!

I am not so patiently waiting for my asparagus to make an appearance.  This is the first year that we can cut from the bed, and I am in a panic that I've killed it off after waiting two effing years!!!!

Meanwhile, dash down to Lowe's Food. Pretty decent price on it this week! Lol, I am still wondering if I will live long enough to see a decent crop production on mine. Spears last year were pretty spindly! Any growing tips will be welcomed!
