Their ladies clothing is geared toward the, ahem, more mature, woman. Could you imaginge your granny trying to find a
Sunday suit at Cato?
Pintos and hoop cheese. Nuff Said!

So Red, just because it isn't the fashion mall, you think it should die?  It has it's own place on the planet and has for well over 100 yrs. and I think it's a Treasure Trove of long term survival...

The Farmers' Alliance is an absolute icon.
That little store represents all that is still good and right in Siler City.
While everything else has dried up and evaporated, the Farmers' Alliance has
stood stong. A momument to the town history, a salute to our veterans, and
a remembrance of old ways, the Farmers' Alliance is a true gem.
The quality of items they carry is top of the line. (Remember, cheaper is just that)

I wish everyone would appreciate this store, and help them continue for anonther
hundred years.

How the heck do you get THAT?

Let me assure you that you are mistaken.  You have no clue.

Red, sorry if I mistook your remarks as derogatory to FA..."fashion statement...whatever"...no matter to me on that subject. They still serve a lot of needs for hard to find items.
I have gone into that store since I was a child (in the 50's) with my parents and they did before I came along. It is a treasure trove just saying. The folks working in there are the best and always have been.

I'm going this weekend and get another pair of George Strait Wrangler jeans, I bought a pair maybe few weeks ago and love the fit and comfortable.

What I mean is that older ladies can't find what they are looking for in trendy places, ie. Cato, Peebles ect... The Farmers' Alliance has always catered to that age group.
What could be better than pinto beans and hoop cheese?   Simplicity at its best.

And I am the last person on this earth to talk negatively about the Farmers' Alliance.

Truce Red, you won't find a better cheerleader than myself for Farmer's Alliance. I send people there for Carhart, work clothes, boots, seeds, jams/jellies, museum aspect.

And don't forget their plants.  I start most from seed so I can be sure to get varieties I want;
still Farmer's Alliance consistently has the the healthiest specimens I've seen anywhere.  And usually
you can get any amount you want.

Noticed today, they had some veggie plants out front. I was in such a push on time and some business I had to take care of, I couldn't stop by. (RATS!). Definitely some pretty tomato plants and couldn't scan what else in the drive by!

RATS, Can't find Rutgers, Marglobe and my favorite Celebrity everywhere. I will have to aim for them next Tues. BEWARE though folks, we have a freeze night in the forecast this week, so keep the little veggie guys in warm place a bit longer!
