Its fair to say we needed a bigger venue.  It was good to see so many new faces interested in helping improve our county government.

Here's the web site for the Chatham County GOP, but ask Brian Bock.  He's the new chair.  Just leave a message on the site.  Sign up on the site to get email alerts for all activities

Stop Welfare for Politicians
Taxpayers should not be forced to fund municipal campaigns

Dear Grassroots activist:

The thousands of grassroots members of Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina are dedicated to free markets, lower taxes and limited government.  We are concerned about the ever growing burden placed on taxpayers through forced public funding of political campaigns.

House Bill 120 would expand taxpayer financing of political campaigns to municipal races. Taxpayers should not be forced to fund campaigns they disagree with. This bill could for the first time force taxpayers to fund politicians they cannot vote for because they live in a city that does not elect all its representatives on an at-large basis.

All:

A group of Chatham County Republicans are meeting at the Food Lion in Pittsboro at 11:00am this Saturday, March 21st to caravan to Raleigh. We are joining thousands of other grassroots activists  and Americans For Prosperity to protest not only Governor Perdue's tax hikes, but all federal bailouts, spending sprees, so-called stimulus packages, earmarks and fiscal irresponsibility in national, state, and local governments.

Hope you can join us. If you can't meet us at Food Lion we will be at the NC State Capital (East Side) downtown Raleigh between 12:00-2:00.  See you there.
