My wife and I stopped by yesterday for lunch and Jennifer took excellent care of us as usual.  On top of that, at the last minute, my wife decided she wanted some beer to serve tonight for some friends coming over.  Carolina Brewery has a new beer on tap called To Hell and Bock, which is really good.  Since it was new, they did not have a lot of it bottled for home comsuption.  Jennifer was able to talk to the brew guys before they left for the day, and they made a special filling for us.  When my wife picked it up this afternoon, John took great care of her being sure she had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves.  It was over and above good customer service, and we really appreciated everyone's effort at Carolina Brewery.  I am about 10 minutes from getting into it and I can not wait.

Since I am here, if anyone has not seen Carolina Brewery's new spring menu, there are a lot great choices on it.  My wife can not stop eating the portabello wrap, and I am enjoying the artichoke po boy.

Jennifer, can I get the recipe for black bean soup at the brewery.  It's rather tasty!

The To Hell n' Bock is absolutely spectacular!  I picked up a growler of it a few days ago, and will be going back for more of it soon.  It's definitely my kind of beer!

I'm actually not too impressed with the spring menu.  Food and service was still great though.

I, for one, will not be giving Carolina Brewery any of my business!  My husband and I went there on Saturday evening and when we approached the hostess, she told us it would be 5 minutes before a table would be ready.  Now, I understand they were a little busy, however, there were at least 6 empty tables by the door and about 4 outside.  Yet, we were given no explanation as to why we couldn't be seated.  Then, another couple came in and were offered to sit at the bar- which we were not!  The hostess stood there talking to another employee while she played with her hair and rolled silverware at the same time- NOT SANITARY!!!  We waited 10 minutes, then we just gave up and left.  We ended up at The Flamingo, where we were seated immediately!!!

SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT THE BREWERY, BUT THAT WAS JUST POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE/MANAGEMENT!!!!

Why didn't you ask for a manager and explain your problem?

this seems like a pretty major overreaction to a pretty minor problem.

To everybody: anytime you have an issue with a restaraunt or other business, PLEASE bring it to a manager/owner's attention!  9 times out of 10 people want to make it right, but they can't if you don't give them the chance.  It's not fair to expect people to be perfect, it is fair to expect them to address your concerns, but only if you bring them up!!

and try to remember that empty tables do not equal available servers.

I didin't ask for a manager because at that point, I chose to take my business elsewhere- The Brewery is to sllloooooooowwww anytime I've ever been.  Doesn't matter now- they've lost my business PERIOD!!!

Wow - This was a compliment to good customer service, seems to have gotten off track.
I personally think a 5 minute wait to have a waitstaffs full attention is a great thing, and it's good customer service,
I understand that if you asked to be seated somewhere in particular, they might not have had a waitperson available right then, but it is odd that they seated someone else at the bar in front of you, I would have been upset as well...But I would have asked a question rather than left.
There is a McDonalds next door if you need fast food, Most people like to go and hang out and have a meal at a relaxed pace.
I am sure Jenn will let the management know about this, She is a good customer service person!

Yet no one seems to think its a big deal that the girl was playing with her hair while rolling silverware?  That's just gross- why would I even bother eating there after seeing that?  Even if I did talk to a manager, I still wouldn't want to stay...  my husband works in food service (as a manager) and he was DISGUSTED!!!!!!! Shocked

Maybe everyone that came to eat after you would have appreciated the manager fixing this problem.

What do you consider proper silverware rolling setting?  Gloves and a lab coat?

I have had excellent servers at the brewery, as well as not so great ones. I have mentioned both to the management. Sometimes they are slow and the food is less than great (really great burgers, though, and specials,) but they have really won me over with the atmosphere, the beer, and the generally friendly service. I appreciate their presence and investment in our community.

Now if I can just get them to do a cheap burger night, they can go ahead and put my name on a stool!
