Several hundred of our local senior graduated last night or today. I attended the Woods graduation today, and the principal, Harrell Rentz, quoted Winston Churchill to the seniors - "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

Congratulations for achieving this milestone. I wish you all well as you move on to college or work.

I say who needs college...... get your butts out in the real world and work instead of sponging off of your parents.

Um, believe it or not, there are many of us who went to college right out of high school and paid for it ourselves and did not sponge one red cent off our parents.  It is possible to work and go to college at the same time, and there are lots of young people who manage to do both without the financial support of their parents - who may or may not be able to afford to pay.  In addition, college is actually a requirement for many career paths, so to answer the question "who needs college"... the answer is:  lots of people.

Yes, congratulations to the graduates and continued success on whatever path you all choose.
