The manner in which the verbal assault on a volunteer took place IS disturbing, as well as the attempts to derail what could have been a constructive conversation.

My understanding is that peanut oils CAN be quite dangerous to some people with allergies. Perhaps this is why the man was so upset?  This is not to say that the charitable organization cannot use what is available, nor to excuse the unacceptable behavior, but I am just questioning if it is possible that he was upset to find that he could not eat the food provided or perhaps he wanted it labeled or something?

Obviously, in a charitable setting, we have to provide what we are able to provide.  Usually people just eat around what they cannot take.  Our little food pantry at my local congregation has been quite strained over the last couple of months.  The selection is sparse, to say the least.  But, people can still get some food, if the need is real.  They may not always be getting what they would prefer.  If someone cannot eat peanut butter, they just leave it on the shelf for someone who can.
