I am seeking re-election to a third term as Pittsboro's Mayor. I believe in mutual cooperation and finding common ground among key players to create a better future for all citizens of Pittsboro. My background in team sports informs my approach to the challenges our town faces. Obstacles, whether great or small, are more easily overcome when people at all levels work together with experienced and knowledgeable leadership. This is true on the court and on the field, as well as locally and regionally. I believe it’s imperative that local leadership work as a team to compete for scarce capital and resources that will address critical infrastructure issues.

Winning examples of this “Team Pittsboro” approach are on the website. http://www.randyvoller.com
(The “Team Pittsboro” roster includes the dedicated Town Board of Commissioners, hard-working town staff, many tireless citizen/volunteers, local business owners and other regional partners who work for a better Pittsboro.)

Pittsboro deserves the dedicated and experienced team the town has had for the last four years. Help me continue this record of our success and “Vote Voller” on November 3rd.

Randy Voller,
Mayor of Pittsboro

I looked through your list of endorsements.  Good to know your parents and wife endorse you.

There are some people missing from the list, unless I missed them.

Was there anyone from the Abundance Foundation on the list?  Or are they still a little upset about the friend price on that piece of land?

Where are your former business partners like Dan Walsh, or the guys over at Maple Leaf (you know them, the Lyle thing), or any other local developer for that matter, etc?

I also wanted to let you know that some of your former staff members are giving you a bad rep.  You might want to look into that.

Hey, Chuckster, any chance you would like to finally share the major accomplishments of your term as mayor? I know getting liquor-by-the-drink wasn't one of them, but surely you must have accomplished something you can tell us about. Oh, I guess you didn't fix the water problem either. What the hell did you do, anyway?

You have to LOVE the way Randolph shamelessly leeches on to the "Team Pittsboro" approach. What a bunch of hogwash. It's not even HIS team to. A lot of the people on this team don't care for the man or his character very much.

Randolph's team is the "Pittsboro Together Team"

A lot of us not on his team don't care for him either.  Be glad to pull the lever for his opponent.

Is Voller actually responsible for those things or is he just taking credit for them?

Maybe "Chuckster", unlike Voller, isn't comfortable taking credit for the actions of others?

I can't even vote in Pittsboro, but I do enjoy how much he seems to get under folk's skin.

I also enjoy the fact that he is actually a fairly regular poster here and answers critics directly. Rare.

Really?  I am still waiting on those bus numbers and the reason why he tried to mislead people here about who rented Lyle some office space when he tried to illegally register to vote.

Ask away bro! You may not like the 'answer' but at least it comes from the horse.

It is a team effort as we say on the web site: www.randyvoller.com

We have bi-partisan support from Republicans, Independents and Democrats. (A hammer can be used to build or destroy. I ask that we build a future together.)

As usual Randolph does NOT answer the question asked.

Also, in Randolph's mind all you need is ONE Republican and ONE Independent and you have a bi-partisan effort.

I have no idea what you are responding to with this?

I would like to hear the answer to the questions posted before as stated by WolfpackFan:

Please respond to these particular issues. Thank you.

Chapel Hill Transit will be periodically providing Chatham County and Pittsboro ridership data, when we receive this information it will be public.

I support transit and desire that as many citizens as possible eventually utilize the service. Public policy  and public/private partnerships are not "microwave" solutions, but rather more organic like farming.

Sometimes the crop fails and sometimes one gets a bumper crop, however, we still work the farm every year.

We are laying the groundwork to grow a more sustainable future. I wish we could divine the future by gazing into a crystal ball, but we cannot. (We make the best decisions we can based on the best available information at hand.)  Although we are not fortune tellers we can, however, work hard and plant the seeds of a better tomorrow.

There is an abundance of research and informtion available on transit. The Special Transit Advisory Commission (STAC), which issued its report in May of 2008, recommended what we now call the "Pittsboro Express Service".

The "regional transit vision plan" was made to various stakeholders with "recommendations for North Carolina's Research Triangle Region".  The STAC report was received and supported by the:

1. Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO)
2. Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC)
3. Triangle J Council of Governments (TJCOG)
4. Triangle Transit
5. NC DOT
6. Regional Transportation Alliance
7. The Institute for Transportation Research (ITRE)

If you do not support transit planning and implementation than none of the data nor research will sway your opinions.

If you do support diverse transit options then you will understand why it is imperative that we get on board and support a great long term asset for our county and region: enhanced daily bus service in partnership with Chatham Transit.

(BTW-these ideas are bi-partisan, too. Chapel Hill Mayoral Candidate and OCGOP chair Augustus Cho strongly supports this service as do many Republicans in the 4th district.  Mr. Cho and the former GOP chair of Durham County attended the ribbon cutting for the bus service on 8/31/09 and both made strong statements in support of the service.)

So, has the bus been declared a success without any data to back it up?

When will the first numbers be received?
