I can't understand how people can actually enjoy a meal in the Brewery. The noise is so bad that it drives me out every time. I've been in there when there was only one other table of people and I had to talk in my "outside" voice to communicate my dinner companions.   Upside the head

I have trouble with the noise too, Diva, so I just get mine to go mostly.  Love that porter.

I went there one time with the intention of going in but it was so loud I decided to dine elsewhere.

I just put in my noise-reducing earplugs and enjoy dining knowing I'm in a CHF-free zone. Cheesy

I have never noticed the noise, but I always sit in the bar, so maybe it is expected.

I so agree, it is always a pleasure to eat at the Brewery!!  And I love the beer.  One of my favs is coming out soon, Winter Wonderland and oops, my other fav, Alter Ego Altbrier!  The Bynum Brown is quite good also!  The food is yummy and I love the service!!!  I will keep going also.

I went Saturday night (anyone seeing a pattern?).  Of course, I was not as cheerful as the last 3 Saturdays, but I still had a good time.  Melissa was on top of things and did not bat an eye at my wife's modification of everything she ordered.  And of course Jennifer was taking good care of the bar.

My husband picked up some food from CB tonight and it was sooooo YUMMY!  I had the black bean soup and a couple of chicken fingers.  The two chicken fingers I had just about amounted to a split chicken breast and the seasoning was perfect!

Went by again yesterday for lunch, it was great. The bartender could not have been more friendly, it was pretty quiet and the food was pretty good. You know why some places like this are noisy? Yes, that's right - they are -gasp- popular!! Funny how that works.

S&T's is pretty noisy when it is packed on a Saturday, just like Top of the Hill or Bailey's in Chapel Hill.

I'm just having a little fun with the whiners, but I do understand that the design of certain places & maybe even their clientele can make things noisy. Really old folks are often nodding off into their soup at some places, of course. But it's a pretty big space at CB and I can't imagine it would be that loud at a table around the corner in the back. Just saying.

I agree Hope...... The noise is the thing that keeps me out of there. The noise was so ehoey and loud in the main dining room we had to shout at each other to be head right across the table. Not a relaxing dining experience at all.

You may have just hit a rough patch, as I have been able to talk and hear just fine every single time I've ever been there, even right at the bar.

I just took my 15th visit to the Carolina Brewery and it was packed. Really enjoyed my Buttermilk Chicken Bites, which were double batter dipped and then coated with a buffalo sauce. We also had a plate of nachos, which were great, as usual. Also stopped by City Tap & The General Store. Awesome to have all these options and be able to decide to 'keep it Chatham.'
