Since his opponent apparently is the manager of Applebees in Sanford perhaps you could work in a "California vegetable medley" on someones face.  Wink

This is the second time someone has harped on Bill Crawford's job as an Applebees' manager.

What IS wrong with being a manager at Applebees?

Applebee's International, Inc.   - Raleigh/Durham, NC

Discover Applebee's:
Apple Gold Group

Apple Gold, Inc. was founded in 1984 to develop and operate Applebee's restaurants in North Carolina and was one of the first five Applebee's franchisees. Our first Neighborhood Grill and Bar opened in Cary, North Carolina in 1985 and by 1994, Apple Gold had grown to 17 restaurants across North Carolina.

In 1994, Apple Gold, Inc. acquired an existing franchise group named OK Apple, Inc., and with it, the developmental rights to most of Oklahoma. The acquisition brought the number of Apple Gold Group restaurants to an even 20. In 1995, six restaurants were opened, representing a growth rate of 30% in just one year.

OK Apple expanded through acquisition in 1996, buying three restaurants and territorial rights in Arkansas. Coupled with the building of additional restaurants in North Carolina during 1996, these acquisitions brought the number of restaurants in the Apple Gold Group to 43, a 61% increase. Between 1996 and 2006 the Apple Gold Group continued to expand by building in new neighborhoods. By the end of 2006, additional restaurant openings increased the number of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bars to 69, located in North Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

The Apple Gold Group exceeded $140,000,000 in sales for 2006, making it one of the largest franchised restaurant operators in the country. Restaurant Finance Monitor ranked it 34th in the nation in its 2006 listing of the country's 200 largest franchise operations. The Triangle Business Journal ranked The Apple Gold Group amongst the 50 fastest growing privately held companies in the Triangle in 2005.

Our philosophy is to continue to grow through both building sales in existing restaurants and building new restaurants. We know that with hard work on everyone's part, we can continue our run of success and establish our company as THE leader in the casual dining business.

I see--more snide comments and no substance. Too bad,  I actually thought you would be serious.

Guess again.  She's the originator of Losing Ticket's beloved Egg Man graphic.

And I appreciate her finding that picture of Randolph.

So you now admit it's a silly internet photo. Oh.  As for Applebees, it is a grinding job that demands a lot. I worked in the same industry when I was younger. I do not see how I or my managers could have had the time to do both jobs back in the day. Maybe times have changed.  Grin

I see--more snide comments and no substance. Too bad,  I actually thought you would be serious. I guess a picture of eggs on some fella's face will appear next with the usual piling on by the usual suspects.  The only thing more predictable was the Woody Hayes offense: three yards and a cloud of dust.

Since his opponent apparently is the manager of Applebees in Sanford perhaps you could work in a "California vegetable medley" on someones face.  Wink

He has to work somewhere. Pittsboro does not have enough good paying jobs. Nothing wrong with Applebees! Good reasonably priced food.

I am curious: can any of the "nattering nabobs of negativity" tell little ol' me which items were actually done prior to the current Mayor's election in November of 2005?

I will take a stab at a serious response, although I am going off of memory.

1)  Powell Place - matter of fact some "voller" supporters protested

2)  The 3M project (funding also in place prior to Voller being elected)

3)  Over $750,000 in sewer line rehabs - started prior to Voller being elected - continues today

4)  Chatham Forest ( Grin) and Potterstone

5)  Sidewalk project to post office

6)  Several buildings in Town - The old Pitt Stop building - prior to Nancy May

7)  Application for new waste discharge started during Nancy May time. Started by David Hughes - still on going

Cool  Lowes Home Improvement and associated out parcels ( no approval on this - no Brewery)  Large Land use project - other building approved after Randy in office but would not have happened if the large land rezoning approved prior to him being in office.

9)  Andy' s and Domino's building

10)  Pittsboro Discount Drug Building

Credit for this one goes to the county, under Gary Phillips' leadership.
