I wonder how much good comes from posting second hand gossip, which wasn't even admitted to be secondhand until well into the thread. And what was the reason again for naming the employer of the gossip target?
This is not second hand gossip. My husband gave me a factual account. He does not lie. The other people involved are elderly and do not use a computer. Someone has to stand up for them. It just HAPPENED this kid was from Bio Fuels and if he worked anywhere else I would have done the same thing. You are missing the basic point. It was an unacceptable act. Not malicious gossip.

Were you there? No? Then by definition it is secondhand. Here a definition of gossip, from dictionary.net: 2: a report (often malicious) about the behavior of other people; "the divorce caused much gossip" [syn: comment, scuttlebutt] Pretty much dead on.

Info is not dead on. Secondhand is not gossip. It was factual. You are getting off base here too. This is about please be considerate to church volunteers. If you did not then you should be aware of it.

So your post was not "a report about the behavior of other people"? Please. Whether it was malicious, well that's for the reader to judge. In making that judgement I'm sure people will factor in your second post where you gratuitiously added: I must say I am not surprised as it is the same group who berated business owners for not taking the Plenty. I wish they would be like the hippies of old and live and let live.
Unless the rude person was Matt Rudolf himself, who as far as I know is the only bio fuels person who berated businesses for not taking the Plenty, you have no basis for that statement.

Keep that in mind as you continue to discuss this and remember that the board is primarily for entertainment purposes.

What do you think that might be? I enjoy BBS gossip as much as the next person, it's when it moves to the step of equating one person's alleged rude action (reported second hand) to a BBS indictment of a whole organization that I object. If Mary had just said that someone eating a church dinner was rude to a volunteer over what was being served, and people should be more grateful and not brought in gratuitous references to Piedmont (with which I have no affiliation, btw), and not been followed up with a whole thread devoted to rehashing all of Piedmont's controversies, I would have had no objection to the gossip. I guess to satisfy BBS obessessives, Piedmont should police what their employers do on their own time now. Then the BBS obsessives would probably be accusing them of being like big brother. Keep that in mind as you continue to discuss this and remember that the board is primarily for entertainment purposes.
Great, next thing you're going to do is say "no wagering".

Mary, I was at the lunch and didn't see anything like this happen. Of course, I was in the back corner, Henry Horton was in full swing at the piano and I was only there with my coworkers for about 20 minutes.
Do you know for certain if it was a Biofuels employee, or do they work at the Biofarm? Did he even realize he upset the volunteer? Maybe your husband can have a chat with this fellow the next time he shows up. The volunteers work much too hard to get treated like that.

Maybe your husband can have a chat with this fellow the next time he shows up. Now that would get me put in the doghouse for a week. I'm sure that Mary could handle the discussion if the problem arose again. But maybe that's not the tone in which you intended to say that?

What I find really funny is you obsessing over that which you perceive as obsessive. Perhaps you've got some kind of connection with Piedmont Bio Fuels. Who knows? I doubt you'd admit it if you did.

And perhaps you're actually Bunkey Morgan. Who knows? I doubt you'd admit it if you were. I have no affiliation with Piedmont Biofuels. None.

I was under the impression Mary didn't go to the luncheon. I'm certain she'd have a chat with the ill-mannered individual if she will be there.

It was at the kitchen area so I guess Harrys great playing may have drowned that out for you. My husband said she simply stated back to him that all food is donated so what is served is all they have and he should be grateful. I do not know if that rang with him but I hope so. He does plan to show the young man what he did was upsetting. I posted the initial be kind in hopes he would see it. Thank you for recognizing it was about the sweet volunteer.

As to Fuels or Farm my husband says he got a Biofu...... and Harry at that point played louder. But he says he has talked to the young man before and he mentioned Biofuels.
