The liberal Durham-based Independent Weekly will be putting out its' round of endorsements on Oct. 14 for Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board, Hillsborough, Pittsboro.

Let's not waste everyone's time. Let's just go ahead and let's just "guess" who they are going to going to endorse for Pittsboro mayor.

This is your chance to play "Miss Cleo" and predict the future!

Someone just told me check out the Chatham Coalition webpage for a fair assessment of what is good for Chatham and I was very surprised to see it had only democtratic candidates on it. Are there no Repubs represented? Diversity is good!

In all fairness to the Coalition, they have been a very organized group. The Chatham GOP has not, historically, been organized and active. (That HAS changed this year as we have new leadership now!). The Coalition has been so good at what they do they've gotten their folks elected and so we don't hear much form them anymore - because a bunch of them are now elected officials. I have to say it - good for them. You don't see political diversity in their endorsements because there hasn't been any.

We plan to be fierce competition next year!

the Coalition has some strange, mystical connection to the Indy. I like the Indy, so this disturbs me. the Coalition does, too, sometimes.

Well the Indy is a very liberal paper so no surprises. I do like the music section. I am unaffilited and have voted for what I thought were the best option to Bunky Morgan but they lost me probably as well as a lot of others with the ICE resolution vote.

I'm not running for any kind of public office and as long as the meds keep working and I don't go completely crazy, I'm not planning on running in the future.

However, on the off chance I do lose my mind I have already designed my campaign cards.  Prominently featured in bold letters will be the following

"Not endorsed by the Independent Weekly"

 Cool

Have you already forgotten the Indy's refusal to endorse Jeffrey Starkweather for commissioner, and the coalition tantrum that followed?

Thanks! They should be called Chatham Democrats in all fairness.
