Does anyone know if there are any coalition candidates on the ballot for the Siler City Municipal elections?

I'm hoping that any Coalition candidates are confined to Pittsboro!

So do I Snowball, however rumor has it that one of our candidates has joined  them. I will not use names because as the saying goes, sometimes a rumor is just a rumor.

Didn't one try in the past to run for mayor?

I think so. If I am right the guy gave his address to be a building down town.

I don't think it's a secret that Charles Johnson is also the treasurer of the Chatham County Democratic Party and would likely receive an endorsement from the Coalition, if they choose to make any endorsements in the mayoral race in Siler City.  John Grimes is a Republican, so I doubt the Coalition would support him.

We just might better start thinking of a write in to save the day.

Well, just for the record ernie, I am not endorsed or supported by the coalition, or any PAC for that matter.  I don't even accept financial contributions from anyone because I feel as though it may look as though I "owe" someone something.  It is my hope however that if someone is endorsed by the coalition they will be strong enough to think for themselves and listen to the voters.

Is it possible to have this position and not be in the coalition?

Maybe the coalition could clean up this town ,who knows.

why has the CHATHAM Coalition not endorsed anyone in this race? that is very odd.

The Chatham Coalition claims that their published issues statements represent the positions of the vast majority of the voters of Chatham on a broad range of issues facing the county, and therefore we are not a “special interest.”

We do not represent a narrow demographic segment of the population, a political ideology, an economic or professional interest or even a particular issue.

Our concern is to elect county officials who will lead and who will listen.

YEs, just like those Coaltion politicians listened to the county citizens about the ICE Resolution and the Increased Impact Fees.

I'm not surprised that the Coalition has not made an endorsement in this race.  Their base is not located in this end of the county and there is little to be gained by endorsing a candidate in this race.  I am sure they would prefer that Charles Johnson win since he's an officer of the CCDP rather than John Grimes or Jonus Nobles (no offense to either candidate).
