This would be a VERY good time for a certain someone to go away from home and log on, making an appearance to dissuade all of us who think he posts here under several names. Wonder why he hasn't?
and who is that CHF? I am all a flutter.

After rereading that, I don't think I asked the right question.
Here is what I know to be facts.
1. Lyle admitting renting the property was Randy Voller. 2. Randy came on here and tried to mislead people about it.
Now I am biased, but it smells a little fishy.
My point is, they are both grown men. Each is only responsible for his own actions. What may or may not have happened isn't really relevant, because it is all conjecture. What did happen is Lyle did something wrong. Period. Randy doesn't have some magical spell that he can cast over another person to control his actions. I don't really think it is fair to keep dragging Randy's name into what happened.

Randy's attempt to deceive doesn't bother you?
It doesn't raise questions in your mind? It certainly raises integrity questions with me.
What exactly was the involvement that he was trying to hide? As you say, the part we know about was not worth lying about. Yet it does appear that he did try to deceive the public about it. So what else is there that he felt he had to cover up?
If there is nothing there, why make the misleading statements? If you believe that he had no reason to deceive, do you believe that the people of Pittsboro deserve someone who instinctively lies when the truth would do as well? This is not the only integrity issue, but it seems to be a pretty clear cut instance of questionable behavior. It did occur during this term of office.
It seems legitimate for the public to examine the incumbent's record. My guess is that the people of Pittsboro are going to view this as a referendum on the incumbent. They will be deciding if this is the voice they wish to have continue as the face of the town. I would expect that this and other incidents like it will weigh heavily in that decision. It is almost assured, since leopard's do not change their spots, that they will get more of the same, should they re-elect him.

Randy Voller has been quiet, I wonder if his IP address was one of the ones blocked for the IT-Linda Felt time out?

It's been nice and civil around here the last few days. Guess if the BBS can survive without Voller4Mayor, Pittsboro can survive without VollerAsMayor

What a nice thought. No hint of corruption, no self-promotion, just putting Pittsboro first. Now that would be a nice change for the better.
