I see.  Is odd to abstain from such a benign vote.  I guess it would be interesting to hear his reason. Did he give one?

The paper did not give a reason - only that he abstained.

I heard that the colors are going to be Kelly Green and Gold. Apparently, this is combining the North Chatham colors (gold and purple) and the Perry Harrison colors (teal and black).  Can anyone say "leprechaun"?

NO NO NO NOT GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Northwood NEVER gets that right.  They have everything from Vegas Gold (glittery) to LEMON CHIFFON (the ugliest color on the wall pads in the gym).  Gold is so hard to match.  Then there are those ugly YELLOW lockers that litter the halls.
Yellow-Gold?HuhHuh? Bad choice.

So when do they hire a principal for the new school?  Does he/she start 6 months ahead of opening or what?

Hula- Ain't about hating it or liking it.  It's a hassle for the sports b/c no one ever uses the same gold/yellow color. Black is always black, white is always white, navy or royal blue or even teal are defined colors.  You obviously have never dealt with the sports wear end of things, like ordering jerseys etc.
I don't care what color they pick, I'm saying the gold/yellow is a hassle to match.  Just walk around Northwood and you'll see what I mean.  Some forethought to things and maybe we wouldn't have some of the mess we have there.

black and white are literally the only colors that have no variation. even specific colors of blue like teal or royal blue have variation.

so I suppose the new school's colors should be black and white? can the mascot be Spy vs. Spy?

Hilarious.  Ya'll win.  Gold, yellow, marigold, chiffon, sunshine, goldenrod, school bus yellow, maize, amber and so on.  It's all good and those are all colors I've seen at Northwood on the walls, or on the backs of students and athletes. Just if they go with gold make sure it's a particular gold and not just any shade.  Down the road it will make things simpler.

now that I think of it even the colleges (like Carolina) don't always have the exact same color everywhere.

Any of you have questions such as what will the teacher/student ratio/class size will be? Or if there will be any funding for teacher assistants. Traffic concerns on a narrow country road that will then house two schools? Bus routes/time schedules?
Yes, how silly that would be....

why would we bother with that when we can complain that the colors are going to be gold?

Carry on...I'm old as dirt and old school. Didn't have colors or teams until high school. Had to PAY ourselves for any uniforms, field trips etc. It was a hard cruel world Wink
