Thanks Shooter, I was just now thinking posting a "got rain"? thread. I just looked at my gauge...3 inches?! I think some leftover in it perhaps. Though, it was raining cats and dogs when I loaded the cat in the carrier this AM to go to the vet. Ditches were full and the Haw running full speed ahead!

1 1/2 to 2 inches off Goldston Road....I was hugging and talking to my Oak Trees around the house and they are extremely happy this day...except one of them lost a limb on the top of my house and it scared the sweet poop out of me.

Oh my, MamaC hope no damage from the tree limb. Just cleaned up the yard/gutters from leaves, pine needles the other day. Can't even tell I've been out there at all now! We sure needed this rain however, blessed be!

Naw, Baby.... everything is fine right now...one of the young men who come by and help us was here and he went on top of the house and got the limb....man that thing was loud when it fell. I was more afraid for him to get on top of the house in the rain than the actual limb problem...Blessed Be.

Good, no damage, and so good to have such good friends that would go out in this rain to remove the limb! Just a heads up to all, winds are predicted to pick up this eve and with the saturated soils, could be some tree issues.

I think my rain gauge floated away. The puddles are too deep to walk out there and check it anyway

2.5 inches in Moncure this morning. 1 tree down, it was already dead, fell in the yard without hitting anything.

My 3 inch measurement may not be off/some leftover? Just don't remember if I dumped it or not before this arrived....It was coming down in sheets this AM.

My combined total for yesterday and today (so far) is 3.03 inches, according to my automated rain gauge that sends a radio-transmitted signal to my indoor receiver every time its little container auto-dumps (every 0.04 inch). Hubby got me the gadget two Christmases ago. Love it, love it, love it -- and the rain too!

This has been another "perfect hurricane"! Good needed rains, no heavy winds! I know some think we were not in a drought/shortfall, but we were. This is welcomed rain! I love to see the Haw running like it was today and surely will be even more by tomorrow!

We had 2+ inches this morning when I checked and emptied the gauge. The gauge only goes up to two inches and it was overflowing.
We are just west of PBO. Kinda curious how much rain we had this afternoon.
Wind warnings are up. I hope trees do not starting falling in the high wind and wet soil.
Later, Dan
