Very healthy 19-week old silver Easter Egger cockerel, kept with six pullets in a fully-enclosed coop/run (no interaction with other animals/birds). Diatomaceous earth dustbaths, too -- no insect parasites.

This boy is gorgeous, and I hate to see him go, but he was supposed to be a she. I don't need a rooster, and I don't want to disturb the neighbors with his morning crowing. He's a little standoffish but not aggressive ... can be picked up.

The blue-ish egg gene is dominant ... so if you want to start your own flock of Easter Eggers, he could be your foundation roo. I'd rather see him go to a breeding home than for meat. I can return him to the hatchery in Holly Springs, but if a fellow Chatham-ite wants him, I think that would be better for all. Act fast, because I'll bring him to the hatchery on Friday unless he's spoken for by then.

See his pic here:

The pic doesn't do justice to his iridescent green tail.

Yes, I do! I got one reply from a woman from backyardchickens.com who said she "might" be coming by our area this weekend, but it's not firm/committed. If you commit and we schedule a time, he's yours. I can meet you anytime on Saturday, or Sunday morning-to-early-afternoon.

I'm going through cellphone-transitioning limbo right now, so it's hard to reach me by phone, but I check my email a LOT ... stacey curtis at yahoo dot com with no spaces. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a cell again...write to me and we can talk details.

Thanks,

-Stacey

I now have a stated intent for his pickup, though day/time are still not confirmed. I think the right thing for me to do is to give the interested person who's trying to figure out her schedule first dibs if she really comes through this weekend, and if she doesn't, he's yours if you're still interested.

I could be convinced to place him sooner with the right home if I knew it was a great home ... I know it sounds silly, but I'd really like for him to have a long and fulfilled life. For a rooster, he's really nice.
