Unfortunately there is not good news. It may be only a matter of days Sad if there were a tear icon I would use it. I enjoyed laughing and talking with him just recently.
Please pray for this dear man and as family as they endure the next few days.

Col. Totten, I have loved and respected you and enjoyed talking to you. I will miss your no nonsense approach, and your famous words, (use common sense). It makes me very sad to lose you, but rest is a good thing. No more worries. We will all be thinking and praying for your family, and know that you will not be forgotten. Thoughts of you will always be good memories for me. Thank you.

What a beautiful service for the Col.!!!  His commitment to the students and teachers in Chatham County will be sorely missed but his honesty and integrity will long be remembered.  Thank you to Deb McManus -who took the time to share some thoughts about serving on the board with him.  Col., you may be gone from us physically, but the memories will last forever.  You were a very special person to many.  We love you and will miss you.  To the family - we share your loss.

What I would give to have another conversation with him! I even saved one of his emails for when I need a word of encouragement.

RIP Devil Dog. You continued your service way beyond your Marine Corps days. Love to your family. 1,2,,10, however many years go by, you will always be remembered. Semper Fidelis
