Anywhere is too close to home....I do hope that this might bring more awareness to residents re: North Carolina's status as tops in the Eastern US for human trafficking.

Truly sad. I would certainly hope that (now, that it is too late for this child), that this investigation gets cranked up to FULL SPEED and the people involved with this are brought to the fullest extent of punishment. What a waste...

I can't help think what little Shaniya's final hours must've been like.
At least she's at peace now.

I just hope that the guilty parties suffer the same painful torture.

Those involved should be placed in a drippy wet cavern with a bunch of bats and the entrance closed off until they all ROT! Prison is too cushy of a life for these decadent people.

from what I hear, other prisoners are very hard on child molesters and most all crimes against children.
Let's just hope the guilty parties here don't get solitary confinement, they deserve the WORST treatment they can get.

I'm doing the same thing....and I can't stop thinking of my own six year old. I'm not religious, I don't pray. I pray for this kid, sorry we failed you.

My 5 year old is dancing and singing right now, they are so full of life at that young age. This little girl was so innocent.

Seriously? Grammar correction in a topic like this. You're better than that.

Just a note Muddy. I'm not one to be the spelling or grammar police on here. LOL, I make many typos myself.
This issue deserved a clarification IMO however considering the subject matter.
Prayers out there for that poor child tonight, just saying. Sad outcome. Sad part of our world.

I just feel really, really bad for the father.
he kept her and raised her, from a mother who was a one night stand. for some reason he felt he should let the mother take over a month ago.
lord help him, you know he is suffering tonight.
may I remind all of you, we do not know what happened? not in any way to defend what happened to that child, but we do not know anything, except the mother was "arrested" so let it go.

The father seemed to be the most (only?) concerned.
I can only feel REALLY, REALLY BAD for this child. I can only abhor what people like this would do to such an innocent young life. They aren't human in my book.

I also feel bad for the dad - he's got to be
devastated
.
I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect we'll feel even worse when the details come out.
