Is there anything you people won't try to argue about?

The question is twofold:

Should we post the police blotter and if we do what is the criteria?

The problem with posting charges is that in effect those "charged" frequently are "convicted" in the court of public opinion.  This is has always been a balancing act and can become a vexing situation in a local/regional community.  Certainly some charges are more serious in nature and impact public safety.

Finally a critieria should be established for how this information is dispensed. The aforementioned police blotter is a subset of what has been published in this week's Chatham Record/News.

Good idea.

Gene, can you pick someone to establish a criteria for you to follow on your board?

I got a question Why does Clyde go around making "animals" out of tree logs?  I don't remember buying one, but I got one in my yard. LOL  "Merry Christmas you take care of this tree hog, dog, heffalump!"

Stuff is usually.. sometimes, on the Chatham County Sheriff website under news. I always check it because it just interests me. I hate it when they go a month or so and don't update it. Maybe it's from growing up in Chapel Hill and reading the police blotter. It's kinda like reading the obits, which I also do.
I'm not a criminal and I'm not dead but if you grow up in an area for forty some years, maybe there is some part of you that is curious... bad or good.
Thanks Gene, you've been better than the Sheriff website.

And as for Gene:

Rock on - you run it like it's yours and let us know if Obama tries to take over, ok?

come on , Obama is gonna interfere with Gene? no one interferes with gene, it is his board.

if he does not feel moved to put the police blotter in I am sorry for that, but anyone else can make the effort.
