What organizations/agencies are collecting and distributing toys to Chatham County children this year?

I guess the liberals and conservatives here in Chatham County are too busy trying to force their opinions down everyone's throats than to worry about toys for needy children this holiday.

Thank u for that thoughtful and useful bit of information. SBB - You might want to check with your local churches. Our church has "adopted" a local family for the holidays. The mom has provided us with the information about her kids so that people can shop appropriately. I also think there was a Toys for Tots program in Chatham last Christmas.

The bottom line is the iPhone and modern medicine came from democracy and the free market, not a government agency.

Brefini, IMO, your reply was totally uncalled for and out of place. SBB's question didn't call for a flippant reponse about liberals/conservatives.

Beginning to see the Toys for Tots boxes out and about. Even saw one at the gas station/convenience store at 15-501/Andrews Store Rd.

You're right MountainGal, it was flippant. I didn't have an answer for SBB, but it seems everyone took a break from arguing their "answers" to help after my response. My apologies SBB and hope you find what you're looking for.

Not sure about toy distribution but your local school's guidance counselor should have a list of families/children in need. My men's group has distributed gift cards through the counselors for years and they do yoeman's work during the holidays taking care of their kids. Please check with the counselors. They have the families truly in need and you know your donations are headed in the right direction.

From Tues night's chatlist From: Laura Chintapalli < laura.chintapalli@chathamnc.org> Subject: Foster Care Christmas Wishes Program - Donors Still Needed Chatham County Department of Social Services' Christmas Wishes Program is asking for your help this year to make the Christmas Holiday special for each child in foster care in Chatham County. Thanks to the generous support and contribution from the citizens of Chatham County, DSS has successfully provided the Christmas presents for our children in foster care for twenty years. We are asking for your support again to help make the special Christmas wishes for each foster child come true. We need sponsors to support the program, which helps meet three Christmas wishes of each child in foster care. In the past, we have had families, individuals, and organizations as sponsors. You can help one child, an entire family, or a group of siblings. Monetary contributions are also acceptable and all donations go directly to meeting the needs of the children in foster care. Those interested in the Christmas Wishes program should call 542-2759 or email jamie.bazemore@chathamnc.org. Thank you for helping make Christmas possible for the children in our care.
