the oncoming storm...............so tell me, you say your not a police officer, but you have a lot of information that only a police official would have! and how did you get the picture of the Pittsboro Police car? sounds fishy to me!!
Bottom line is, it's great there is another cop in town, the bad thing is the department is trying to make a statement, be seen as unique.......just do your job that us, the taxpayers, pay you to do. No need to buy flashy stuff, to impress. Are we in the business of impressing snowbirds passing through our town, or enforcing the law and doing it efficiently?

Nobody in town cares about a show car.
I did find out some info........as for this 3 county trooper cr*p you are locked on............doesn't happen other than the drug highway team, accident guys, and governors detail.........and thats from a trooper, and if your not a cop, like you say, which no one believes, then how do you know this?

I don't need to be a police officer to ask a cop, "So how does this Highway Safety Program work?" That's how I got this "information only a police official would have." I asked the Sergeant about the car and he told me. It's not top secret.
How did I get a picture of a police car? With my camera.... Seriously.... You don't have to be a cop to have a picture of a police car. What sounds fishy?
Here's the bottom line, as it were: The GHS Program gives certain agencies a certain amount of money for an officer's salary (for three years), a vehicle and all it's equipment. Now, I'm pretty sure that once everything was purchased by the GHS Program for Pittsboro, that whatever money is left, it would not be allowed to be transferred to some other account. I'm pretty sure that the money allotted for this program is allowed to be spent ONLY on the salary and vehicle. I may be wrong about that, but that's what I would think. If that's so, the money would just sit, never to be touched again. So, I ask you, why not use that money for it's only purpose, and buy good equipment? See, your big complaint seems to be that the Chief chose a Mustang instead of the traditional Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. So what if it's different from other agencies? There's nothing wrong with that. Again, a two year old Mustang is
not a show car! Do you even know what a show car is? Apparently not! You just want to complain about an officer driving a nice sports car. But, whatever. I seem to have humored you again, even though I said I wouldn't. Your ignorance is just too juicy to ignore.

You say the PD shouldn't buy "flashy stuff to impress." It sounds like you'd rather them be on horseback with nothing but night sticks and handcuffs. This isn't Britain, mind you. There's nothing wrong with an agency having good equipment if they've been given the means to get it.
I'm not "locked" on any "three-county trooper cr*p." I merely pointed out the different Troops as I understood them. If I'm wrong, then there's nothing wrong with that. However, I'll have to look into that myself, by asking a trooper myself. No offense, but I'm not taking your word, as you've obviously got a grudge against me for some reason, and seem to be compelled to prove me wrong. I'm not "locked" on anything; you are. You're the one who's "locked" on trying to prove me wrong on everything I've said. If I reply with an intelligent, accurate response, you either move on to something else to try to poke holes in, or you fuss about something we've already talked about.
And for the bazillinth time,
I'm not a police officer. And I doubt that "no one believes" that I'm not a police officer. So far YOU are the only one who swears up and down I'm a cop. Just know this: I respect law enforcement and I take it seriously, but that doesn't make me a cop.
