has there been a problem with speeders & "aggressive" drivers causing wrecks on the 64 bypass or 15/501 around Pittsboro?
A problem with speeders? Of course.... Aggressive drivers? More and more every day. There's also always been a problem with drunk driving; it's everywhere. different people define problem in different ways, I guess I should ask the question, have the wrecks/injuries/fatalities due to speeding or so called aggressive drivers increased recently? I don't travel in or through Pittsboro often but the only fatality on or near the bypass I recall was a result of someone pulling out in front of someone else not from speeding or "aggressive" driving. |

A problem with speeders? Of course.... Aggressive drivers? More and more every day. I get tailgated into town from the north without fail. I go the speed limit because I have heard from parents who live on Hillsboro St. about children who have been killed there. I can not be moved. but many are. they should be nabbed, and moved to traffic court. |

OK Mr. Police Spokesman.................you obviously work for the Police Department, you have way to much knowledge to be "Joe Schmoe" off the street! Bottom line is you keep saying, Pittsboro Tax Payers don't pay his salary, B.S. ........we all pay for it in some way or another.......I'm all for the grant and the extra man on the street, but spend the money smarter, you stated, the Chief wanted to look different. Who cares about looking different, it's about the town wasting money on the stupid Mustang "showcar". Who cares if its "used". It's not about getting out here and enforcing laws, its now about getting out here and being noticed. "Hey look everyone, we got a mustang", who cares, we are not in 4th grade!
As for the Troopers, my cousin is a Trooper, and they are not responsible for three counties like you said, They are responsible for one. Now they may be asked to go to a call inside Lee County, or just inside Alamance, but these troopers are not being called 3 counties away to answer a call, and that's from a trooper that has been working for 19 years!
And you responded to my statement about enforcing crime 3 miles outside town......you said he wouldn't be enforcing crime 3 miles outside town.........you stated he would be catching speeder...........bottom line, Stay in the city, protect the citizens in town, answer calls for service in town, the county tax payer who lives north of Russell's Chapel Road doesn't need help from Mustang Man, he has deputies to call.
What needs to happen is someone "official", I repeat "official" needs to release something to the tax payers about the duties of the mustang man, multi-jurisdictional cop and what his responsibilities are. You sound like a rookie cop who has taken it upon yourself to be the spokesman for the town, you sound young and not as well versed as you should be for tackling a issue this big!!
And whats up with the Canine the town bought, you have yet to ouch on that???

he never said 3 counties, you made that up, whole cloth. he said 3 miles. beyond jurisdiction, period, shared with the adjoining jurisdiction. you may need to talk to your "cousin" and think about it. |

uh, no. 6 pages is a lot, and I did read over it, 2 times. where did he say 3 counties? I do not see it. if I missed it, then headline it and post it, I will capitulate, it will not be the first time. but I am not sure you are right. but you kids are still fun, fun, fun, till her Daddy took.. |
