I deal with those now on 421, oh and the cell phone talkers. My biggest worry is all of the deer this time of year of course no matter where you go they are around. Deer need to look both ways before they cross the street.

Lot's of little blue light specials along 64 also. I wouldn't get in a hurry out there!
Those dang deer need to use those crossing signs or they wouldn't be bumping into us near as much laugh

Thanks Seavey. Unfortunately that is not possible right now (I did ask), it is a very large NC based financial institution and many financial institutions limit telecommuting due to security concerns.

Just try watching kids while working from home - productivity takes a dive, I'm telling ya.

Anyway - don't have to worry about that afternoon sun again until spring ;-)

Today was my first day at my new job. I am 5 miles from the Randolph County line and I made it to Raleigh in 1 hr and 5 min, same for my return trip, not too bad IMO. Living in the country does require sacrifices but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Isn't Jordan Lake a beautiful drive over? Especially since it has been replenished by the recent rain Smiley
Still, I am sorry you have to drive into Raleigh (woods) traffic..sort of spoils the prelude Tongue Got to do, what you got to do, though dude, so best of luck to ya'.

I'll never belly-ache about my 40-45 minute commute to Centennial Campus again.  :-)    The drive to work is actually pretty serene until you cross Hwy 55.  Thankfully the opposite is true, and it feels like going on vacation the rest of the way home.   Best of luck with your new gig!

In a way, I liked commuting over 30 mins.  Gave mental space to prepare for the work day, and time to disconnect from it.  And murph nailed the best part....

Enjoy, Silk.

I used to enjoy the commute as well when I worked out of the county.  I'm still happier with working from home though.  Glad your trip isn't too bad.  Enjoy the new gig!

Way to go, Silk Hope!  That's super.  I'm so happy for you and proud of you, too.   toast

As my grandmother used to say every time one of us left, "You be careful on those highway roads!"

Isn't Jordan Lake a beautiful drive over?

Gorgeous.

Yes welcome to the daily auto race where everyone is fast enough to pass you but not enough so to do it at the usual radar spots - and for pete's sake if you're not passing stay out of the left lane!   Undecided
