I find myself missing my little dog that died a lot. If you know someone that has an adult , small lap dog in need of a home please contact me. I have checked all the animal shelters. Thanks

Check petfinder.com

You can search on a LOT of different things (ages, breeds, sex) and find pets near your zipcode.

http://www.chathamanimalrescue.org/index.shtml

Have you checked with these folks Ramona? A couple of cute smaller dogs available on the site. Chloe (5 y.o.) and Scooby 3+ y.o. looks adorable and is described as a lap lover! Good luck in your search.

I have looked at both of those site. Thanks anyway. I am hoping to adopt from a private family.

If you are looking to adopt from a local family, give the local vets a call.

I work for a no-kill shelter, and when we are full, we refer callers looking to place their pets to local vets -  who almost always have a bulletin board in their waiting room where people can post pets for adoption.
