A car nearly hit a stray dog in front of my home.  Anyone missing a beagle pup, should contact me. Click on my name and send message. I check often.

She HATES our dogs. But she is safe for the moment...until the wife gets home, anyway.

We agreed to hold her here for a bit because the lady that had the near miss was not from around here.  Seriously, though, we cannot keep her long.  Contact asap.

CHF, thanks for giving the dog temporary safe refuge from the road. If an owner doesn't appear, please consider taking it to a no kill/rescue facility.

I have got to believe the owners will turn up. She is sweet natured, and quite content to lay at my feet. She was not interested in food or water, so I have to think she was just recently lost.

hee hee! Sounds like she could keep the feet warm for the winter!
Yes, contact some of the vets in the area near where you live. Check with neighbors.
Maybe take her in to be chip scanned, since apparently no collar/id etc.

NO. I have NOT named her.  She is nice enough at first, but tends to snap and bark at my dogs for no particular reason. If I do name her, what do you think about "Belle?"

(Okay, I admit it, I crack myself up!)

I have a fine, extremely intelligent dog named "belle" who kindly loaned me her name for the BBS. she would not mind a bit if you used it, I am sure.

BTW, a bunch of beagles were tossed into your neighbor hood today.

Subject: Beagles found on Old Graham Road

Last night I found 2 adult female beagles and a young beagle (possibly
beagle mix) wandering in the middle of Old Graham Road not far from
Rock Rest Road.  One of the females has some age on her (grey muzzle,
etc...) and the other one has had puppies, although doesn't appear to
be nursing right now.  The puppy has an injured hind leg and has
trouble walking.  If you know who these dogs might belong to please
contact me with any information that might be helpful in finding out
who owns them.  Thank you very much and I appreciate any help I can
get in placing these dogs either in their original home or in a new,
loving home.  They are very affectionate and walk well on the leash-
it appears they would make wonderful family pets.

no, seriously, the financial crisis has put a strain on people who took up dogs during the good times. I know, I have more pets than I can handle, and it worries me.

people abandoning pets is well documented. I really worry about mine, if I can no longer pay the bills. I would never dump them. but people do.

OK, Scarlet?  Rover? Shorty?

That is horrible...dumping animals out on the roadside or otherwise. There are alternatives.
Sparky is a nice name CHF angel
Again, thanks for giving the pup a safe house until something else can be figured out.
