I can't imagine how a new school board member will be selected given the scant information required on the application form. And an interview MAY be necessary?  Shouldn't it be mandatory?

One additional application came it (deadline was 5pm Friday).

Stephen Burke

Snowball, this is the process the board decided to use - they have a large degree of freedom in selecting a new board member.

The board met briefly tonight and decided they did need interviews. All 6 applicants will be interviewed at a special meeting Thursday Feb 4 at 5:45 at the Central Office in Pittsboro. This is an open meeting, and there will be a period for public comment at the beginning of the meeting. I look forward to seeing a lot of you there.
