The Al's Grill at the Hwy.64 Exxon in Wilsonville has reopened. There was no one in there today though, but the folks in the convenience store said its been open for about a month.

I stopped for gas this morning and didn't even notice it, not many cars in the lot either.

They were very slow when I stopped for gas. The only reason I noticed the grill was a big sign in the window declaring "Now Open."

So what kind of food would you expect, Shooter? Or anyone?

They're advertising "Breakfast and Lunch." I looked for a menu posted there but didn't see one. Since there's no sit -down space, I assume we're looking at biscuit/sandwiches and the like.

I stopped one morning.  Had a baked canned biscuit, bacon, with some sort of circular egg object on it.  I'm not really sure what it was, only it wasn't a fresh egg.  I won't stop again.

That doesn't sound good at all.

That's a shame. They used to have great fresh bacon and egg sandwiches, biscuits, burgers and such.

That's Shannon Plummer's place - he has Al's Diner also. exact same food. Which I live BTW.

Shannon was seriously injured during an activity with his son's Boyscout troop and the Grill and other projects have been on hold. Bless this man's heart. I am glad that you mentioned this Tim cuz I am going by there a couple of times a week these days. I will definitely stop!

When did Shannon get hurt? Is he going to be okay? He's the older fellow at Al's that circulates around the dining room, refills coffee and makes an effort to chat with each of the customers, right?

Donnie- Shannon is my neighbor!  He was trying to burn some brush in his yard one evening, and he used gasoline to start the fire.  Apparently, the fire blew back on him & from what I understand, he suffered 2nd? degree burns on his arm & leg on one side of his body.  I think he's getting better now, but he had to have pig skin grafted on the burned areas.  And no, he's not the older gentleman.  He's probably in his 40s...

Gotcha, now I know who he is.  Poor guy, burns are incredibly painful. I hope he gets well soon! Al's is my favorite place in town to grab a quick breakfast.

My understanding, after speaking with someone in the convenience store, is that the restaurant is now being run by someone from the Morrisville area who also has some type restaurant there.

Haven't stopped in the grill since it re-opened.  Might, just to try it once and see how it is.

Sorry to hear about Shannon as well; hope he'll be on the mend soon.

If Mr. Plummer was/is being treated by the J.C. Burn Center team, he is in good hands. They are incredible! I wish him a continued, speedy recovery.
Hopefully the grill will recover as well, sounds like hockey puck biscuits for now.

It's been a few months at least since Shannon was burned, so I'm sure he's well on the mend by now (or I hope so, anyway).  I think it happenned in September or October, I just can't remember that well...
