The Chatham County Republican Party will be hosting the candidates for congress in NCs 2nd district on Tuesday, January 12th at the Chatham County Council on Aging in Pittsboro.
This is a great chance to hear them discuss their candidacy, ask them questions and just get to know them.  Coffee and desserts will be served.  For more details and directions go to www.chathamgop.org

Confirmed we have folks coming from out of the county to come and listen to these candidates speak.  Lots of interests of who's going up up against Etheridge, expecting large turn out.  Way to go Chatham GOP

Hat tip to Brian

Congratulations Chatham County GOP, stand up room only with many folks from all over different counties in the 2nd district.  Renee who is one of the candidates was extremely impressive.  I've also heard her on the radio prior to this event.  Also seen media present.  Y'all out did yourselves this evening.

Interesting only two of the four promised candidates showed up and the crowd was mostly greater than 55 with few young folks to support the future of the GOP. Etheridge's last challenger Mansel did not bother to show up as well.  The GOP, a almost white only party, except for its truly nutty chair, sees the end of their privilege days in power as American browns and are reacting to this with such groups as their core "tea baggers" majority.  Good advertising short on delivery for Ranty's forum.

truth, everyone was "publically" invited and welcomed.  Questions to the candidates were from the audience and many from different counties and total strangers.

I agree that it's a shame that 2 of the candidates were not able to attend. The purpose of the meeting was to get to know the candidates in an informal setting and I believe that the 75 or 80 people in attendance were able to do that.  We had a mix of citizens from all ages. I think Truth must have missed the very large number of people that were in fact well under 55 including members of the Triangle West Young Republicans. I don't understand "truth's" fixation on age.

I think it's important to remind folks that T.E.A. stands for "Taxed Enough Already". Those that attend the rallies are people of all ages, political parties and races. Just because those on the fringe left prefer to use crude nicknames when referring to them doesn't change the reality. I will give "truth" the benefit of the doubt that he may not understand the meaning of the term "tea bagger". I do suggest he find out before using it in mixed company again, however.

There are some who will never agree that the workers of America are taxed too much. They will never understand that you can't keep going back to the well to squeeze more and more out of those who are already overworked. Fortunately for America, it's the group that doesn't get that who are seeing their privileged days in power coming to an end.

Truth -

You sound like a homophobic racist old coot.

BTW, it "Tea Party". Like most of your liberal cohorts, you choose to rely on the disgusting label of “Tea Bagger” for citizens who dare to voice their opinion about the direction of our government.

Really shows how open minded you are.
