Horrible for the kids that experienced this and for the dog.

"Almost all of the children started screaming..."

I know this is a little sensational, but really, couldn't the bus driver have addressed it with a little more compassion?

Oh
my
gawd!

Our experience with some CH school bus drivers was just as awful in terms of giving a hoot about the kids or animals or other vehicles. Others were wonderful.

I hope this driver gets a good talking to at the very least.

Oh my gawd was my first reaction. I read this early this AM and it played on me all day whether or not to mention it.
Just hope the dog is okay despite and the children that knew this was happening. It obviously had an impact upon them, or this child would not have written about this.

For real.  Wasn't that a well-written letter?  If I was that young'un's Mom & Dad I'd be mighty proud.

I would be too, proud of that child's compassion and action to express it. Maybe there is hope out there that we aren't entirely cold. I LOVE this kid's concern!!!

May I add where was the dog's owner concern?Huh

Well, I won't hold a grudge against the owner unless we find out the dog is allowed to wander.  Could have been one of those sneaky escape artist chihuahuas!

When I was little, my bus ran over a puppy that ran up to "it's girl" before boarding the bus, and I will never forget the BUMP and seeing her face. That was a very long time ago, and it is still an aweful memory.
