Does anyone know where I can purchase some small/young ferns? I want to plant a few in a wooded area, but all I can find are ferns in $10 hanging baskets.

Go to "Big Bloomers" in Sanford. They have all kinds of perennial ferns and much more. It's not just a plant store, it's an experience!!!

I agree that Big Bloomers is great. You could also try the NC Botanical Garden on 15-501 in Chapel Hill. They sell all sorts of lovely natives. And Niche Gardens in Orange County also sells native ferns. You can find Niche Gardens online here: http://www.nichegardens.com/
