Pre-K Opportunities with Chatham County Schools 2010-2011
We are currently accepting applications for 2010-2011 school year at individual sites. Please contact the office and pick up an application if you are interested and return the application to the site where you are interested in applying.
Available Sites
Sites where we currently have Pre-K and children are REQUIRED to be 4 by Aug. 31st, 2010 to be eligible:
Virginia Cross Elementary, Siler City Elementary, Moncure School, North Chatham, Perry Harrison
Sites where we currently have Pre-K and children are REQUIRED to be 3 by Aug. 31st, 2010 to be eligible:
Bennett, Silk Hope [We accept 3 and 4 year olds at these sites.]
All Pre-k classes follow the Chatham County Board Approved calendar.
Current Fees
$530.00 - - - regular school day
$630.00 - - - extended care - - - this offers care until 6pm (this service or fee is NOT guaranteed for the 10-11 school year at all sites)
We do accept Childcare Network vouchers.
Application Process
The following information is required for a completed application packet:
* Completed Application (dcd and Universal)
* Birth Certificate (copy of certified to verify age)
* Updated/Current shot record with all required immunizations
* Physical completed after acceptance into our program (within the first 30 calendar days)
* Copy of a picture ID and a bill - - - proof of address
Please turn all the above information prior to March 15th to be considered for early private pay enrollment.
We will accept applications all year.
Every effort will be made to notify parents at the beginning of April in writing about the status of their child’s acceptance for the Private Pay slots (either accepted or on the waiting list).
- - - Title I and More At Four slots will be filled at a later date when the slots have been released (Usually in late July or the first of August)
- - - Title I Screening for interested applicants will be in late May and early June at Moncure pre-k and in Siler City for VCE and SCE.

More At Four
These slots are available in ALL 12 preschool classrooms across Chatham County. This is a state supported program for “at risk preschoolers” for a 6-6 ˝ hour preschool day. If you are interested in applying, please see the front office or pre-k teacher to give you a More At Four application. You have to be eligible to enter into this program.
Title I
These are slots that are available based on students that have the greatest academic need and screening is required and covers a 6-6 ˝ hour preschool day if your child is eligible for the allotted slots. Not all students who screen will be eligible and qualify for this program.
