Does anyone know what caused the traffic delay on the West side of Pittsboro yesterday afternoon? Several of my coworkers were discussing what could have caused it. I assume it was an accident of some sort. Deputies directed traffic while numerous power company personnel worked on power pole that was leaning over the road.

A green car ran off the road to the left, just in front of the county school administration building. Not sure how the car got so far over there. It hit a light pole. It looked and sounded like fireworks were going off when it happened. We were without power for a few hours while it was fixed. he section of West Street between about McClenahan and Farrel was closed.

The young lady driving the car, fell asleep at the wheel. Fortunately there was nothing in her path, other then the telephone pole.

Hey, you should have been here in the 60's. I think they even turned the street lights off...if they had street lights. By comparison, Pittsboro rocks nowdays!! I have friends that come back and can't believe the town is still busy at 8 or 9 pm!!!
