A number of Chatham Boy Scout troops and Cub Scout packs attended the reenactment at Bentonville this weekend. Two scouts from Pack 951, which meets at Evergreen United Methodist Church in North Chatham, were in a picture in the News and Observer Sunday.

I love those re-enactments. not enough history is taught these days, and this sparks the interest of children. I have been to Gettysburg many times, and a few other sites and nothing makes military history understandable except to look on the actual land the battles took place on.

the next step, of course, is to then wonder, why? why did these men fight?

good for the troop.

Had some relatives that went and they enjoyed it very much! One just went along for the ride I think, but turned out to be an enjoyable trip for them as well!

Pack 900 went too, it was a fun time plus it was great to see the history of our country being remembered.
