Pittsboro Police Dept. would like to thank Kerr Drug and the Chatham Community For Alcohol and Drug Free Youth for their help with this event.  Around 25 people dropped by the event on Friday to turn in their unused or expired medication.  All the medication was turned over to the SBI for disposal.  Here are the numbers:

8468 = Assorted pills & tablets
 324 = Packaged medications
   18 = Nasal Sprays
   10 = Liquid medications

Hopefully, Operation Medicine Drop will take place once a year from now on.  In the meantime, you can properly dispose of medications by mixing them with food, coffee grounds, or cat litter.  Do not flush or dispose of them in the water system.

Thank you!
