My lone hummer reappeared yesterday. Two other feeders out and no takers yet Sad

We had 7 at our 4 perch feeder yesterday, fighting it out.  It was like a swarm of big bees at times!

omg come get some of mine I need about 4 more feeder to keep from making more about everyday. Its so fun to watch them fight over the feeder like 4 will land and 1 will be a bully and the chase is on. I have about 15 everyday and a friend of mine had 7 feeder and I can even count how many I have seen on any giving day at her house.

Feed and they will come laugh An alternative to buying sugar to feed them is to plant things they can naturally score their desired sweet tooth satisfaction. They are beautiful birds. Interesting to watch.

I have 4 feeders up and many trumpet vines and there are dozens in the yard all day long! We even have the kind that suckers to your window and have it right in the kitchen nook window where the table is. There is a holly bush right below it and it is fun to watch them jockey for position.
The neat thing is the feeder has perched to rest on while feeding and you can see them so close up.

We love watching the hummingbirds at our house. Best yet is watching our company stare in amazement at how many are buzzing around. We have counted close to sixteen at the busiest time in the late evenings. We only put out one feeder at a time the last couple of years. They would eat the last drop of no matter how many bottles of food were out there. We were going through a lot of sugar and wanted to encourage them to enjoy the butterfly bushes, salvias, cardinal vines and things we planted for them more. We love the "little sugar freaks" and will miss them when the season is over.

I have had a huge decrease in hummers at the feeder this week. I guess they are on the way south maybe?

Not seeing as much activity here either. Guess they are tired of this stinking heat/humidity/drought wave also!
