There have been two yellow lab puppies loitering
at my place today. About 12-14 weeks old. Light female,
darker male. No collars. Well-fed. Please tell me
someone's looking for them. Near Chicken Bridge /
Lashley Rd area. Please also let me know if you're
interested in adopting in case the owner doesn't turn up.
I'm not going to contain them but they don't seem like
they're going to go anywhere.

I hate to even think this still goes on, but, given the location, and the age of the puppies, I bet they were abandoned. leaving dogs "out in the country" is a cruel trick.

Hi Tinkerbell,

Actually, no, they wandered off late that day and I haven't seen them since. I have convinced myself that they had a temporary escape which has now scared their owner into collaring/tagging them. If they were dropoffs, I think I would have seen them at least the next day, because my neighborhood is doggie shangri-la, between several local free-roaming but owned playmates and the muddy stream. But thanks for checking. If you're of the mind to adopt, there are many at Chatham Co. shelter!!

Oh, goodness gracious -- I just had to check Petfinder. The two I saw around here look very much like Eli
http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/16260319 and Sandy http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/16260318
but the two I saw didn't have as much black on their noses, so they're not the same.

Pet overpopulation makes me very sad. I wish I could adopt them all.
