The Sanford Herald has an article in today's paper re: Carolina Tiger Rescue.  You can go on Facebook and vote for them as your favorite charity, and if they win, they could receive up to $250,000.  Visit facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving to vote for Carolina Tiger Rescue or visit www.carolinatigerrescue.org for more info.  Voting ends July 13.

Thanks for posting this, mountain gal. I had not heard about it, so I just spent some time at the Chase Community Giving site, reading the rules, and checking the top 200 vote recipients. It appears that Carolina Tiger Rescue - formerly known as The Carnivore Preservation Trust - actually has a good chance to win one of the 195 $20,000 runner-up prizes, as they are currently in the top 200 nationally. Good Luck to them.

For others interested in voting, you get 20 votes, but can only vote once for each organization. There are PLENTY of other Chatham County choices (I counted about 60 just in the 27312 zip), although most have no votes thus far.

I just checked and Carolina Tiger Rescue is in the top 200, currently at #174, so it is still in the running for one of the $20,000 prizes. The voting ends on July 12, so if anyone would like to give them a vote, now's the time. This is pretty impressive for such a small, local charity.  toast
