Many of you know about the fire that destroyed our house and took the lives of my three little angel puppies last week, but what you don't know is the overwhelming support that we have received from the community and the county.  We will never be able to thank all the people who have given their support, donations but most importantly prayers.  Chatham County is the best! The support has been so great that we now have a camper to live in during the demolation and rebuilding and a building fund account has been opened at First Bank to help us build the house back.  Nothing will ever replace the lives of my yorkies, but it has been so great to see such an outreach to help us rebuild our home.

I do want to caution everyone to have their gas lines checked by a licensed electrician.  The fire investigators have concluded that our fire was caused by a particular kind of gas line (CSST) that was not bonded and when lightning ran in on the line it somehow causes tiny pin holes which allows gas to escape.  Please learn from our horrible experience and have your gas lines checked.

Many thanks again to everyone who has offered help in many, many ways.

I had not heard about the fire. I am SO very sorry about the loss of your home and your pups. We have indoor dogs and cats, and having something like that happen is among my very worst nightmares.

Thank you for letting people know about the gas lines. I would never have imagined something like that could happen.

We also had a devastating fire several years ago. Thankfully no lives were lost. Hope your camper is larger than ours was  Grin!!  Two things: You are going to go thru hell, but will end up better than before. Keep your spirits up and your eyes on the prize!! #2: by all means ALLOW yourselves to graciously accept ALL of the tender mercies bestowed upon you by friends, relatives and strangers. Good luck, godspeed and keep us appraised on your progress!
