Today I was sorry to hear that Mina Bean'a Cafe in Siler City is closing. It was an eclectic oasis in Siler City. I ate there at least 3-4 times, enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but never had a good reason to make the drive and return.

Do you know when the actual closing is to occur?

Sorry to hear that. I loved their pannini's, salads and soups. I am going to Siler this week so maybe I can catch one last pannini and thanks for the nice service and good food I have had there.

With the high unemployment in Siler it is hard for the community to support nice restaurants. I hate to see any small business fail.

I hate to see it fail too, but it was far from a nice restaurant. Unenthusiastic staff, dirty floors, inconsistent food quality.

I am very sad to see them close. Dom, Diana and their family are such incredibly nice people and they will be sorely missed.

Not surprised. Those panini came with cold cut meat from a plastic bag that wasn't even cut on site. I went a few times but kept having to wonder if I was going to be able to get my order in time to eat my salad within the time constraints of my lunch break, which was 1 hour and I worked about 5 minutes away. A refill on tea usually took about 5 minutes. I'd have never complained though, the staff looked completely weeded every time I was in there. It was obvious that they were doing the best that they could, it just wasn't good enough.

You said a mouthful there (nice people)! They were very willing to assist/host community event support as well it seemed. Not fancy in decor, but where is in Siler? I don't live there, but am in town regularly and times I ate there I was treated well as a customer and my food was decent. Had some yummy soups there in winter! Beat the ole' something stuck between a bun fast food blitz in town!

Is parking a problem in downtown Siler City? I have never been there during a weekday, but I can't imagine having to walk more than a block or two.

It was in a kinda non friendly place and sad to say my 2 experiences there have been with not so great food and bad food grade ratings from time to time. There were dirty floors and I got a dirty plate more than once.
