I heard there was a break in/robbery of a home in the vicinity of Buckner Clark/Silk Hope Rd area. Has there been any other reports for this area? Also was disappointed to learn the police didn't dust for finger prints. Huh

My parents live right near that intersection and I know most others that live out there.  We are not too far from there ourselves.  I called her and she said she heard a neighbor was broken into a week or so ago, but didn't really know any other details.  I don't think they know the folks very well.

We were broken into right at Christmas 2002 and they didn't dust for fingerprints here either.  I wasn't home at the time and didn't get here until after the Sherriff's left.  Seems husband said they said something like it probably wouldn't do any good or something??  They didn't seem much concered with solving the case.  Had quite a bit taken.

Somebody took my big screen TV about a month ago. I'm on Pleasant Hill Church Road, not too far from there.

The Sheriffs took a report, but not much else. I don't know if they actually investigate beyond checking out the pawn shops. It seems to me that the Chatham County Sheriffs couldn't track a wounded elephant in three feet of new fallen snow.

We live off Arthur Teague road... someone broke into our house on Thursday, Sept 23rd while we were at work.

Not only did they NOT dust for fingerprints... up to this point they have never even stepped into our house!

SO much for response time increasing the likeligood of finding out anything! Angry

B&E's aren't "sexy" enough to investigate, it's easier to see someone with busted taillight, pull em over, get the dog to sniff out some weed and book em than actually investigate a crime.

If they're not caught in the act, or ratted out then B&E's are rarely solved

You know I understand that it is hard to investigate B&E's, but please at least ACT like you give a damn about my possessions that were stolen...because I care!

Also.... off subject here but if a car is sold to a resident in another state and if the inspection is out over 90 days the State of NC will not allow the title to be transferred to another state until that car is brought back to NC for an inspection.

Breaking in to someone's house is serious and deserves a lot of attention.  We had one in our neighborhood last year, and the LEO's involved really did a good job and showed great concern.  The homeowner was also a bulldog that kept digging for info and the result was arrest and conviction.  Good ending

On the "taillight" comment....yep that cr*p is frustrating....NC HP decided they needed a dragnet license check this past Monday morning at the intersection of Big Woods Rd. and Jack Bennet Rd.   They netted a menace to society when I received THREE tickets.   1- No registration, 2- No current inspection, 3- expired license plate sticker.

Now for the rest of the story:

The license plate sticker on my vehicle expired at the end of September (Stroke of midnight on Oct 1 if you will).    On Wednesday Sept29, I tried to renew my tag on line.  Nope could not do it....vehicle needs to be inspected first.   So, I make my way to an inspection station, and go through the process.  For some reason, at this precise time, my windshield wipers would not operate...!!!!   So, all the usual and easy things are investigated and we cannot figure out what is going on....so, I must leave the inspection, no inspection passed and get this corrected.   Well, Thursday and Friday (Friday was Oct 1....I am now a lawbreaker)  I was out of town on business and did not get it taken care.   Slipped my mind until on my way to work on Monday morning the nice NCSHP trooper reminded me by issuing three citations without any interest in warning tickets or a care in the world about the whole story or how long I had been out of compliance.  I was wrong, vehicle out of compliance, here is your tickets, have a nice day!    Remember, you cannot get a registration card without paying the registration fee and getting a new sticker, the sticker will not be issued until you pass inspection, so Bam.....no inspection, three citations for you.

Great Police work.     I kept hearing Barney Fife:   "Rule Number One; Obey All Rules!"

The trooper who issued those citations wouldn't be a little black kid who looks like he's not old enough to shave yet, would he?

While inspections do expire at the end of the month, registrations don't actually expire until the 15th of the following month.  Mine was do this month as well so I'm looking at it right now.  Even though the registration sticker on your plate is for September, the registration card is actually good until the 15th of October.

So if yours expired in September you should not have received all 3 citations.
