The Mexican restaurant on Sanford Rd. in Pittsboro opened (reopened?) this week.  Anyone tried it out yet?

One of my coworkers ate there and said it was great. I'll wait another week or so before I try it. I'd like to give them time to settle into a groove.

I've been studying the menu- one of the workers gave one to my hubby... looks interesting, but what worries me is that there are a LOT of typos in it (almost as many as The Chatham Record has)!!!

Is the location where Dos Amigos was...just south of the ABC store?

What does the menu look like?

It seems a lot of Mexican places have very similar menus.

It doesn't really matter what's on the menu. I don't understand it anyway. I just point and ask for avocado slices.

You mean like offering something besides, greasy burgers, hotdogs & tasteless chicken nuggets on the menu?

So I'm interested in finding out a little more about your experience...

Was the salsa runny or chunky?

Was the place clean?

My wife and I stopped by Dianna's Tex Mex Rest. Friday evening.  The restaurant was very clean and it looks like they spent a lot of time and money remodeling it.  We were seated immediately and they promptly took our orders for drinks and delivered the drinks and chips and salsa quickly.  They had a limited number of different beers on the menu but no mixed drinks.  The salsa was thick enough for the chips to stand up straight and was very tasty.  My wife said it was too thick for her taste.  They menu looked to be the same as those in area Tex Mex restaurants.  I ordered a burrito combo which was one chicken and one beef burrito and my wife ordered one beef burrito.  My chicken burrito was loaded with chicken but the meat was lacking in the beef burrito.  My wife's beef burrito was loaded with meat and she said it was very tasty.  There were several large groups in the restaurant at the same time and that seemed to slow down everything from getting the meals delivered to waitress checking for drink refills to getting a check - we had to ask for the refills and the check.  Bottom line - we'll probably return since we like that type of food but we'll probably go on a different night of the week.

I've eaten at Dianna's twice now and I like it! The first time was myself and my 2 children. My daughter has allergies so I asked for raw tomato slices and avocado slices and they brought us a bowl of each, quite a bit I might add. Then I ordered the Enchilada Verdes, (very yummy) it came with 1 beef, 1 cheese, 1 chicken and 1 bean enchilada. I don't like beans so I asked for a substitution and they gave me 2 chicken enchiladas. There was enough for me to eat 2 meals from it and it was under $10. The staff was very nice, and when I returned a week later with my son the waitress remembered us. The salsa was thick, but not too thick for me. Oh, I might add, the verde sauce was spicy. My son thought it was too spicy for him but I like spicy. He got some sort of burrito with chirrizo. (and yes I'm a terrible speller)

John and I took friends this last weekend to Diana's and we all left super happy - super well fed and I am now officially hooked  Flame   on their spicy tomatillo salsa.  we had all kinds of special requests and the wait staff was super nice and accommodating. also we enjoyed margaritas ... so if you want a couple drinks no problem.
all in all - another good place to rest your self and enjoy some good eats!   thank you Diana's

We had lunch there this weekend.  It was good.  They bought out the store space next to them (formerly a beauty supply store?) so now they have 2 dining rooms, with a small bar in the new one.

I was banned for what reason?

« Reply #14 on: October 24, 2010, 11:56:06 AM »

I have eaten there and personally have seen a lot of changes and hard work done to make the place more comfortable for customers inside and out.

I think Diane's Tex Mex is a very good place to eat and relaxing inside and out, even in their mini court yard.

By the way.  On October 30th, 2010 Chatham Socials is having a costume & dinner party that scary night.

Dinner starts at 7:00pm with The Chatham Socials group.  You can join in and get more information about the group.

If you are dressed up in costume and would like to enter the competition for the 1st place prize, the cost for entering is $2.00. You will receive a ink impression on the top of your wrist, so be careful not to wash it off.

Please bring two one dollar bills so it can be divided up for the winning prize.

At  11:00pm  the winner will be announced and the 1st place prize winner gets half of the money collected at the Bar entrance!

The other half goes to Chatham Socials to support expense for the group.

So if you like to attend for Dinner and the fun please do come over! Grin
