Duh, it was an ad slamming them. That would be a conservative slant.  Grin

That is great news, Yip. We have a plan that will not remove her from Congress, but could remove the Speaker's gavel from her hand. Its a start. Just vote GOP in the upcoming congressional elections and Pelosi becomes much less of a problem.

I'm just saying, I wonder how that all works with Google and whatnot. Are there simply more conservatives on this BBS these days? Again, if I am missing something I challenge anyone reading this to post an ad they saw on here that has a liberal slant to it. I guess it could also be that Move On and other liberal organization don't advertise much on Google, but none? Still seems odd.

Mary, if you have a pc and it is a static image (not flash) you can just right click it, and scroll down to copy image address. Then you paste that address and click on the image icon next to the earth image above, so you get

The image address is the url - the www part plus whatever, and usually ends in .jpg or .gif

I googled Dunkin donuts a few times during that thread when bobs told me they sell them at a Siler City Hess. Yes I love Dunkin Donuts... have never like Krispy Kremes though. Typing this I see a Greensboro dining event coupon banner ad. I google recipes a lot and I noticed since I shop Overstock I see banner ads on similar items I purchased. Must be a combo of cookies and topics.

check out https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623/

You probably have a bunch of Flash "cookies" set that do track everything you do.

When I used this plugin the first time, it found >70.

I use IE for some browsing, and firefox for other reasons... but I try to run firefox once a day specifically for this plugin, as it will clear the cookies whether they were set in IE or any other browser.

"fresh air" on NPR is doing a show right now, explaining how the whole on-line information gathering and sharing industry works. and how it joins you on the internet with advertisers. it is great. available as a pod cast, I am sure.

cookies, flash cookies, and the scary beacons.

The thing is, I post from different pcs, with different ips and often clear out my cookies, etc.

If it just tracked with cookies, there would still be a variety of both liberal and conservative ads. What I am saying is that I only see conservative or neutral ads on here and nobody has been able to show otherwise.

I know what you mean, when I go on "Common Dreams" for example, the Quaker site, I see very different ads.

also, the fact I frequent the sites like that, do not moderate to the left the ads I see here.

according to the "fresh air" segment, the sites do have some control over their ads. Gene probably is pretty hands on. and, as his inalienable right, leans that way

(please do not ban me again).
