Hello all, yes a bit late, but we are in need of volunteers to help with Football concessions tonight and any night there is a home game. Just show up at 6:30 pm and we will put you to work. Thanks

Would love to have help for the big game Friday, Sept 3 NHS vs Jordan Mathews. Please come out and help anytime during the game in the concession stand. Half time especially. Thanks.

I went to the calender and clicked on volunteering at the concession stand, but it doesn't tell you how much time you're volunteering or anything like that. I would like a little bit more information before giving my email address to volunteer.

yes, the calendar seems to give people trouble. Concessions starts at 630 and sometimes we don't stop until either we are sold out and or the game is over, this last time we ran out of food and closed before 10:00 pm, we serve pizza and hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, nachos and candy. all sections are manned by one/two people. 2 adults work the money. we get ready and serve until sold out. It is very busy and hectic. But we all love doing it. We have very few breaks-especially at half time-which everyone we can find would need to help. Where comfortable clothes and show up. if you can't seem to get your name on the calendar, please email me. darceynhs@gmail.comwe can use all the help we can get. thanks. hope this answers your question.

Why should it be mandatory??? What if they have to work at that time?? What if they want to be in the stands supporting their kids??

Then they can work another sport or JV. There is always an excuse why someone can't do their part. It's pathetic. It's not fair that it is the same handful of people, year after year after year, doing the work while other get to sit on their behinds.

ss, I agree. everyone needs to do their part. It is not fair to the same peeps that always help out. I have worked the baseball concession before. Everyone can make the time to do their part.

Well, my student is girls soccer, so when its not her sport- then you should volunteer for other sports. Then they can work another sport or JV. There is always an excuse why someone can't do their part. It's pathetic. It's not fair that it is the same handful of people, year after year after year, doing the work while other get to sit on their behinds.
Thank you sshookup. It has always been the same handful at every concession or volunteer need that step up to the plate and help out. Writing checks just doesn't work-the school needs your help. I work full time -maybe 50 hours a week or more most every week and I seem to find time to work every football concession, Teacher appreciation, etc. Personally it should be mandatory to have the athletes volunteer and the parents volunteer OR pay to play.

Oh, stop your whining Mzours and just volunteer. Mandatory volunteering happens every day with students in high schools and people in their places of business. If you don't want to do it, don't. But just know that someone else is pulling your weight and making the fields green and the uniforms new for YOUR kid. And the band has mandatory volunteering and it's one of the best oiled machines going. The sports people could take a lesson from how the ARTS folks work together, raise money and don't !@#$$%.

I'm just saying that mandatory volunteering is kind of contradictory, don't you think??? How can you require someone to volunteer? By the way, I don't have kids, and when I do, I will be helping (and am considering helping now, since I'm currently unemployed and want to help the community in some shape, fashion or form while I have free time). The whole point of volunteering is free choice... that's all!!!
