Jordan Lake State Recreation Area’s Annual Heritage Day is held annually, the first Saturday of October from 10 am to 3 pm at White Oak Recreation Area. Come out and enjoy hands on activities, live entertainment and demonstrations all relating to the unique cultural and natural resources of this region. Bring a picnic lunch or purchase food from Ol’ Time BBQ for a fee.
There will be something for the entire family to enjoy. The event is FREE and gives participants an opportunity to see and experience activities related to agricultural, industrial, natural, and Native American history. We hope to create an appreciation for the rich history associated with this land, and a respect for the wonderful natural resources that remain.
Here’s just a few of the exhibitors and demonstrations: musket firing, archery, arrow heads, American Wildlife Refuge (live raptors), Haw River Assembly, old time apple press, Army Corps of Engineers, leather work, old time tractor and much more.
