It was an interesting ride home. I left Raleigh and my old car started making a banging noise. Well I nursed it out of Raleigh, through Cary and Apex, I even saw a part fly off of it pulling the hill out of Apex. The CV axle went bad and was making all sorts of racket. For once I drove the speed limit home being careful not to accelerate too hard.

I was on the Silk Hope Gum Springs Rd a mile from the school when I saw a bunch of critters crossing the road. I stopped, and the animals in the road were 4-5 baby skunks (the mama ran across the road before I stopped). Well they ran towards my car and went under it! Of course I was not getting out to look so I carefully accelerated (making a loud banging noise) and looked back, the skunks ran to the side of the road. Fortunately none of the skunks got run over, the car made it home and it did not get sprayed. I must say I have never seen that many skunks before and I hope I never do again.

Please tell us you drive a black car with a white racing stripe down the hood/ roof.  Grin  Now that would be hilarious!

What is black and white and red all over?

Lol, you think you are part of a 'rescue group'?  I changed lanes on 64 last week in hopes i wouldn't splatter a butterfly on my windshield. Mission Accomplished for both of us Smiley

Good job Silk!! Unfortunately I have been a butterfly murderer of late. Those little buggers just fly right at my windshield I cannot even do anything about it as they pop out of the woods!
Hope you get your car fixed OK.

There were 6 deer in my yard tonight, I would rather hit a butterfly than one of those things. It is amazing to watch deer clear fences from a standstill.

Fortunately Mary I have plenty of vehicles to use when one is down, I worked on it last night but found I had another problem I need to address.

I grew up with muscle cars but these days our spare car is a Camry. Ah well in retirement we may get a GTO ragtop to cruise in or something.

The butterflys have been jumping in front of my truck also. I just assume that with the changing of seasons, they're depressed.

I saw one of the skunks had been hit when I went by the other day.

I live in the Silk Hope area. The other morning when I got up a skunk odor was coming through the air conditioning vents. So of course you could smell it in every room. YECH!!

Okay, everybody sing along . . .  well, it's stuck in MY head, so I thought I'd share the joy

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/doqTSev-_lQ&amp;rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/doqTSev-_lQ&amp;rel=0</a>

I thought I'd share this version even though the audio isn't great because the audience looks soooo depressed.  Germans.  Huh.
