NHS Volleyball, Cross Country and Soccer Information

Our Volleyball team (JV and Varsity) both lost to DSA last night they will be home on Thurs. to face NCSSM at 6:00

The XC boys team took 2nd place to NCSSM (ranked 1st in the state) and our girls team took 1st place.

Here is an update on soccer last night. We have another game Weds. at home against Roxboro at 6:00
NHS dropped a close, hard fought match to Cary Academy tonight 2-1. The chargers led the match until the 67th minute 1-0 off a nice left footed shot by Eric Cross with an assist from AJ Wyatt. CA scored to make it a 1-1 match off a charger miscue in the defensive third. The winning goal came off a CA corner kick with a great diving header to the far post. Dan Burwell had a very productive game in the net with several nice saves. Christian Manhard, Nate Holst, Blake Svendsen, AJ Wyatt and Matt Kleberg did a super job on the defensive end. It's a match I think we should have won, but just did not close it out. The team is learning on a daily basis and I expect will only continue to improve. Hopefully we will learn from our mistakes. I am very proud of the work ethic, now we just need to combine that with more movement, possession of the ball and conversation. The Chargers are home again Wednesday night at 6:00 vs Roxboro Community School.
