I don't think so, the price was too high.

How many Palestinian Suicide bombers' families have not been paid by Saddam?
How many terrorists are no longer living and plotting to come over here or attack our interests elsewhere?
How many WMD's have not been developed, or how many scientists have not been trained to do so?
How much illicit traffic in weapons, knowledge, and materiel has not taken place?
How many more UN resolutions have not been made, only to be broken?
How many people have not been tortured, or families killed by the Saddam regime?
How many women have not been raped in Uday and Co.'s rape rooms?
How many neighboring countries have not been invaded or threatened?
How many ships have not been threatened as they traveled through the Gulf?
How much intel have we gathered on stateless actors by having a presence in the middle of the Middle East?
How much money was not stolen via the continuation of the Oil-for-food program?
How many politicians were not bribed will O-F-F contracts?

How do we prove a negative?

Just saw a great piece on it on WGN noon news and they interviewed soldiers leaving Iraq and those forces staying behind to help.

All of them said they felt the country is in far better shape now then when they came in. Not one soldier felt it was for nothing. They commented on the better infrastructure, schools, girls can now learn, and the economy is growing there. They claim the media has only portrayed the combat and death side.

Our military seems to think it was worth it and one of my cousins who was there said so too last week. He says after things settled a few years ago it was not nearly as dangerous as the media portrayed. I guess depends on who you talk to.

The soldiers that stay now get a paycut because they are not combat zone deployed.

False. Combat pay is not affected as Iraq is still designated an imminent danger area.  http://www.stripes.com/blogs/stripes-central/stripes-central-1.8040/u-s-troops-in-iraq-will-keep-combat-pays-1.115952

Actually no, by spreading more misinformation. But let's not make this thread about that.

My brother served as well. He said they did a lot of good and I believe him. He was in the Green Zone and not in direct combat. I don't think it was worth it myself, overall, but I do think that they helped a lot of people and absolutely thank them for all their hard work, service and dedication to the job.

You made it about that when you claimed to know what Silk's intentions were.  You're being a jerk Yip.  Plain and simple.

This is exactly why threads go awry.  You don't know that is what Silk Hope intended.  You're just making a guess.

Good for him.  Tell him his service is appreciated by more people that he could ever know.
