The lack of involvement of parents in their children's lives, school is the problem.  There is nothing the schools or the government can do to fix it.  Our schools reach out to parents incessantly to no avail. The one or two per cent of parents, who are involved,  bang their heads against the walls trying to gather support for all sorts of projects to improve the educational experience of our students with little to no support from the rest of the parents.  And I would venture to say that the parents who read this list already know what i am saying, so really posting this is a waste of time.

Settled, You're absolutely correct, and it can't be said enough that parents are the main factor in the academic performance of their children. Keep talking!

I also agree.  It is frustrating for a PTSA of a dozen (or fewer) parents to carry an entire school despite the reasons.  I've been in situations where parents complain that the PTSA is not doing enough, while they are unwilling to help when asked.  I suppose there are no easy solutions.

100% correct. It all comes down to the parent(s).  Point the finger anywhere you want, it all comes from the upbringing.  Blame T.V., Music, other kids, - makes no difference. It all starts at home.
