We are the only Presidential campaign effort on the ground in North Carolina and have been since May of last year.

...except for Barack Obama of course.

Sorry Heather, Newt has cajones and the strength to be President compared to Romney who is a wishy washy moderate flip flopper, but both of them are definitely better than Obama.

But in my mind Newt is old school Washington. I do not like personal moral record, he has had ethics violations, and truly he makes sense sometime but his rhetoric about the others bashing him is getting tiresome. He does the same thing. Go too far to the right and we will have the same divide we have now and nothing will get done.

Lets see... Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe... Clinton and Lewinsky.... What is the difference? I could care less about Newt's sexual life, that is his business. We need someone with guts and the ability to take a stand and do things that benefit the entire country not just his base.

I liked Herman Cain because he could see past politics and was not an insider. Yes, Newt is an insider but Mitt is a RINO through and through. Is Newt controversial? Sure he is and if the MSM would look into Obama more the controversery would and could rear its ugly head. Obama sealed education records, college thesis, admittidly did drugs, studied and befriended known socialists, terrorists and radicals yet everything was kept quiet.

take a stand , Newt:

Flip: "I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there’s a package there that’s very, very good. And frankly, it’s something I would strongly support.” — February 2, 2007
Flop: "A carbon cap and trade system ... would lead to corruption, political favoritism, and would have a huge impact on the economy." — April 21, 2008

Flip: "I think is that the evidence is sufficient that we should move towards the most effective possible steps to reduce carbon-loading of the atmosphere." — April 10, 2007
Flop: “I actually don’t know whether global warming is occurring." — November 8, 2011

Flip: "Exercise a no-fly zone this evening ... Provide help to the rebels to replace [Qaddafi] ... All we have to say is that we think that slaughtering your own citizens is unacceptable and that we’re intervening. And we don’t have to send troops. All we have to do is suppress his air force, which we could do in minutes." — March 7, 2011
Flop: "I would not have intervened. I think there were a lot of other ways to affect Qaddafi ... I would not have used American and European forces." — March 23, 2011

Flip: "Well, I think if [members of the Bush administration] believe they have enough evidence to convict [Jose Padilla], going through the process of convicting him and holding him, I suspect, may be for the rest of his life without parole would not be -- would hardly be seen as a loss. I think this administration is still wrestling with what are the real ground rules for dealing with people who are clearly outside of normal warfare? They're not wearing a uniform. They're not part of an army. They are openly threatening to kill thousands or even millions of people." — November 22, 2005
Flop: "Why would you take a Nigerian national who just tried to blow up a plane over Detroit ... Why would you take that person, put them in the American criminal justice system, give them an attorney, read them their Miranda rights? — January 4, 2010

One word --  Romneycare

The father of Obamacare?  Romney advisor Norm Coleman is saying he would NOT repeal Obamacare. Buthe has tons of money for negative advertising and it appears to be working.

But many many pundits and polls show if Gingrich wins Obama has a much better chance of beating him and winning again. I think it is better to vote for the candidate who can take him down.

Romney hasn't been as strong in the primaries as people expected him to be so the race is wide open. Romney beating Obama is no guarantee plus he is not as strong a debater.

I am no fan, for sure, but Romney is improving,  Stone sharpens Iron, and if he does win, he will be a better candidate in the general election for lessons learned in the primaries.

He still won't be a conservative, but at least he will have debate experience, thinking on his feet, knowing the value of being prepared, knowing what to expect from your opponent, and how to handle it. So if he IS the general election candidate, we will have a better chance of the left leaning moderate candidate to beat the extreme leftist President.

I am still hoping for a brokered convention where we could eventually draft someone that didn't run like Daniels or Jindall or Barbour.  (Hey, its my fantasy, I KNOW its a fantasy, but let me have it!)

Christie has backed Romney and did not give a direct no to being VP. I would vote for anyone who picks him as a running mate. I wished he would have run to begin with!
